There is so much love on Etsy! Once again, Etsy decided to share the love with a project they're calling Special Delivery. This Valentine's Day, Etsy is again teaming up with Citymeals-on-Wheels to bring nutritious meals, handmade greeting cards and companionship to thousands of home bound elderly New Yorkers.

Want to be involved? Great, we need your help to supply the cards. Citymeals-on-Wheels serves over 18,000 people, so we need as many as we can get. There are two ways to do this. The first is to make your own card and fill it out with a nice message. See Etsy's post HERE for more info.)

Please note the owls may vary slightly(in color) than what's shown.

Etsy buyers, with your purchase of these Valentines, I will include a note with your Etsy Username and ID# so that YOU (not me, although I'm sending in my own Valentines) will be credited with sending in the cards you purchase here.

Then comes Special Delivery! Etsy collects all the cards and brings them to Citymeals-on-Wheels, where each will be delivered along with a meal on Valentine's Day. Several of the Etsy admin will be volunteering that day tromping around the city with hot meals and friendly conversation to brighten the day of local seniors.

Nutella...a creamy yummy spread of roasted hazelnuts, skim milk and a hint of cocoa. Yum, yum, yum!!Look at all you can do with it...cookies, mini muffins, mouse, pudding, add it to your toast or bagel, add fruit, or just eat it right out of the jar. I decided to make mini muffins (lower right corner), don't they look delish? I found the recipe on the Papery and Cakery blog HERE. I discovered that yummy blog while we were both taking the Blogging Your Way course at Decor8. The rest of the photos were found on Pinterest, my new favorite place to daydream.

Etsy's Handmade Holiday Workshop at West Elm in Princeton, NJ

Last week West Elm hosted a Handmade Holiday Workshop and Etsy Mini Market at every single West Elm store.

Guests were encouraged to create origami ornaments to take home or add to West Elm's tree as part of their ornament and gift/food drive to support local charities.

I was at the Princeton, NJ West Elm with a few EtsyNJ members helping to coordinate the workshop.

The decorated tree, food and gifts were donated to the local charity, Mercer Street Friends Food Bank.

I met many wonderful Etsy buyers and sellers that night. A special shout out to Etsy seller, Geralyn of Greetings from Geralyn, who braved nasty traffic and a long ride just to join us!

Today is Veteran's Day in the U.S. It's a day to honor and thank all who served in the United States Armed Forces. If you want to do more than say "thank you" go check out Service Nation and find opportunities near you where civilian and military communities work together through service and volunteering.

Today Amy Jaz Designs released "A Very Vintage Christmas." It's packed full of vintage goodies-papers, elements and a glittery alphabet. Sweet, isn't it?

I made this hybrid card with the kit and followed the MOJO214 sketch this week.

The glitter is so gorgeous! Doesn't it look real? I was able to add shadows to the sentiment and reindeer with Photoshop. One more reason why working with digital is so cool! Amy has more layouts and tag samples on her blog HERE so check it out and enjoy!

Happy Friday! In the spring my youngest was only in school half the day so we spent time designing a small butterfly garden and then the whole family pitched in to create it. Funny that what's still in bloom are the 1/2 price wildflowers that my mother picked up for me at the dollar store ( a 50 cent garden!) No sweat there...you just toss the seed and watch them grow.

Blogging Your Way with decor8 and Halloween Goodies

I've signed on to the Blogging Your Way e-course over at decor8 and so far I love it! I just need to fit it into my schedule better since I'm a bit behind. My goal is to get back on track with my blog. You may have noticed it's been neglected the past few months but that is in part to the kids being home this summer and Etsy orders keeping me busy. I'm doing yoga again but that's been slow going. I'm still getting over the adverse reaction to Lupron back in June. Next week I start as a "BookMate" reading to 2 first graders. I'm excited about it. BookMate volunteers get paired with children who, for some, this may be the only one on one reading experience they have all week. I hope to bring to these 2 children a love of reading that will last a lifetime.

Today I just want to share my favorite kind of beach day...you know, when the crowds have gone home and the weather is just perfect. This is what we had in Cape May, NJ on Monday...just beautiful!

We need to go back to Cape May and spend more time strolling the streets and admiring all the Victorian homes, shopping and eating at all the yummy restaurants. We stayed here at The Red Cottage and the Ocean Room was perfect with the fluffiest most comfortable bed evah!

I'm back to reality now. I missed my boys but we need to go away more often.

Remembering 9/11

Ten years ago today while planes were hitting the World Trade Center in NYC I was out with my 17 month old son on our morning walk. It was a beautiful September day, the sky was clear in NJ and we were happily walking along singing silly songs and enjoying life. With nothing to do and all day to do it, we had stopped along the way to watch large trees in our neighborhood being trimmed. With each heavy branch that hit the ground with a boom, my son would burst into a fit of giggles every time. We were so happy that day. His smiling face watching those tree limbs fall is something I'll never forget. He was so little, so innocent and so sweet to find joy in just being that day. Little did I know how life would change when we got home and turned on the TV...

Heartfelt love and sympathy goes out to all the victims, heroes, survivors and their families. My wish for those affected by 9/11 is happiness and serenity.

Hello on this hump day Wednesday! It's been one crazy month. Lightening struck a tree in my front yard. When I saw it happen I thought it was an underground gas explosion that's how loud and scary it was! We are waiting to see if the poor tree makes it. Then I'm getting ready to close my garage door one day and I notice the walls shaking. Then the floor. And I'm shaking. Earthquake! I joked the floods were coming next and sure enough...hurricane Irene whipped right through NJ. I feel so blessed that in all this we are all ok and aside from lots of branches to pick up, no damage.

The day after the hurricane was a beautiful sunny day. But Irene managed to drop the pool temperature to 65 degrees so Andrew decided to just sit and chill.

I hope you are all doing well and that nature has been kind to you. I appreciate your visits, your comments and your kindness in checking in on me!

On a crafty note, I do have a few new items for those special teachers out there. My favor tags can be personalized...a nice touch!

Tip Junkie's "Tip Me Tuesday"

In 3 short weeks my boys will be starting school. It's always bittersweet and this is the first year they will both be in school full time, all week...sniff, sniff. They have been incredible this summer. At the end of June I had a Lupron injection, the first of 6, to try and control the endometriosis that collapses my lung. The side effects of the medication were intolerable. Insomnia, joint pain, fatigue, dizziness, migraines, depression, hot flashes, night sweats, anxiety, loss of appetite (not good for a skinny chick)....I was suffering. When it came time for the second injection, I said no. The effects are wearing off as my hormone levels creep back to normal. Last night I slept all night for the first time in 7 weeks, thank you God! I was missing a good night of sleep. And thank God for the supportive and loving family I have that took such good care of me. It's a complicated disease but I have a new doctor and I've got a bit of hope back that things will work out. One thing I learned it to listen to my body and my body was screaming this medication was not agreeing with me. I'm so happy to be feeling almost normal again. As the old Elton John song goes..."The Bitch is Back" hooray!

Anyway, I haven't been creating and sharing much at all this summer and now you know why. But Tip Junkie has a feature "Tip Me Tuesday" and I thought I'd share one of my Halloween Treat Bags today.

Hello on this beautiful and HOT Sunday! It was a fantastic distraction to see AND meet one of my favorite bands, the Goo Goo Dolls. Great show, nice guys and the Tropicana in Atlantic City was perfect...not a bad seat in the house! OMG, I'm a middle aged groupie! Michelle Branch opened and she was awesome! I look forward to her new music in September.

And when I'm not enjoying my favorite music, I like making cards for my dear friends. I used Wild Blueberry Ink's contribution to "Barefoot in the Spring Collaboration" from MScraps to create this hybrid card for a friend's birthday. I used this sketch from Deconstructing Jen's site for inspiration. Two recent hospitalizations stole my mojo but with this sketch and the digital paper pack from Katie's Wish I was able to create a sweet baby card.

This is the boy who doesn't like his photo taken. Shhh...don't tell him he's here.

My first born, karate kid, rock star, doggy lover, funny boy, quiet one, thinker, warm hearted kid, skateboarder, loves bike riding, extra special, thoughtful, big brother, and is now saying goodbye to elementary school and heading off to middle school in the fall. I added "believe in yourself" to this photo and turned it into a card for him in honor of his elementary school achievements. I'm so proud of him and my hope is that he will always believe in himself. You can do ANYTHING you set your mind to! Congratulations, Alex!!

Happy Father's Day to the dads out there.

Just a quick note to share this card I made for my 81 year old dad. Uh oh...now I'm showing my age. The sentiment reads "roots and wings two of the greatest things we can give our children." Isn't that the truth?!

It's a perfect day in NJ today and we've got lots of fun planned for the weekend. We're kicking it off with The Script tonight (love those Irish boys!), karate belt graduation tomorrow for both my boys (yay, guys!!), high school graduation for 3 special boys tomorrow and Sunday is Andrew's final soccer game so, what else, another party. Thankfully, I'm on the mend and able to enjoy all the festivities.

I haven't been posting much but here's something I've been enjoying...flower petals from our cherry tree! The kids wouldn't pose for me but Harley doesn't mind hamming it up for the camera. I love my pink yard.

It's vacation week here, yay!! My brother is visiting from Florida and our first stop after leaving the airport was South Philly for Pat's Steaks! Yum, there is nothing better than Philly cheese steaks full of cheese wiz and grease!! If you don't know what I'm talking about, just ask around next time you get to Philly.

You've just got to try one!!

This week we'll hit the shore, visit the new Irish Pub in town and then on to Baltimore to catch the Orioles/Yankees game at Camden Yards. And, of course, lots of R&R.

Sending wishes for a blessed Passover and Easter! Do you have any special plans? We celebrate Easter complete with traditional Ukrainian and Polish foods. Yes, kielbasa, pork, pirogi...I will have to walk a few extra miles next week since Easter candy will be on the menu as well. Who can resist Aunt Charlotte's butter cream eggs and Peeps?! Not me!

Thank God it's Friday!! I'm so excited that my youngest finally has a "big boy" room. He picked the color himself, a robin's egg blue, and we're redoing his room in a planet theme. It's awesome! Perfect for a little guy who one day wants to go to the moon. My oldest turned 11 not long ago and I'm still wondering how he got to be 11 already. Time flies when you're having fun, right?! Harley managed to jump the fence the other day to play with another furry friend who, of course, became afraid after being charged at and bit Harley's ear. I didn't notice the bite at first but let me just tell you that dog ears bleed. And bleed. And bleed some more. Needless to say, I spent lots of time cleaning this week. He's fine...no $800.00 vet bill this time.

I have no photos to share because I've been busy with my Etsy orders. Can you believe I've made almost 500 Candy Treat Bags this month? No wonder I'm tired...it's only April 8th!

Happy Easter Card

I love bunnies and Easter is my favorite holiday. I love the springtime but waking up to snow on April Fool's Day? Clearly God has a sense of humor and I thank Him for a good chuckle this morning. The kids thought for a moment that it was a true April Fool joke!

Today Wild Blueberry Ink re-released a lovely digital kit "Hope" at Owl Tree Studio. The soft colors and encouraging words are perfect for cards and/or layouts.

My card here is all digi but I mounted it on Stampin Up cardstock that coordinated with the kit.

I love adding a shadow effect. Looks like real ribbon, don't you think?
